"Spyglass with fixed focus. Tube made of lignum vitae(pockwood) with brass slides. Length 26 cm, Ø 4.5 cm. Unsigned" (Louwman and Zuidervaart, 2013). Screws together in middle.

"Comparable wooden ‘little perspectives’ are depicted on the 1683-trade card of John Yarwell. Presumably these kind of small telescopes were also used by sailors" (Louwman and Zuidervaart, 2013).
