Public Notes:

Ornate, turned ivory telescope, tapering towards eyepiece end. Main tube is 57 mm in diameter, divided into four sections, with raised bands of ivory, scallop cut. One elaborate, turned end cap with small aperture plug. Objective glass present – looks like two lenses. Objective has stop that screws onto it from the outside. Eyepiece lens is held in place by brass [very light colored, possibly white] split-ring. Five ivory draws have ivory ferrules, worked in same manner as main tube. Brass erector tube is in the fifth draw. The only lens in the erector is held in place by an iron split-ring.
